Scottish Shortbread Cookies

Our Scottish shortbread cookie recipe has been handed down from generation to generation in my family.

It all started when my grandfather - the Rev. John Strachan, originally from Peterhead Scotland, was given this recipe for shortbread from a Scottish couple that attended his church many, many years ago. My grandmother than taught my mother how to bake these shortbread cookies when she was a young girl.

The family tradition continued, when as children, my siblings and I would bake these cookies with my Mom for holidays or special occasions. A box of these Scottish shortbread cookies was the perfect gift for friends of the family.

Our shortbread cookies are firm to the touch, yet crumble easily when eaten. Creamy white in color, buttery without an overpowering sweetness - the perfect combination of flavor and texture.

We volunteer every week at a local horse rescue and have fallen in love with these amazing creatures. Why shouldn't our horse family members have a delicious Black Mountain Cookie for themselves. We have created a low sugar all natural horse treat. Please check our "Horse Treat" section in the menu line.

All Our cookies are baked to order - please order 1 day in advance for baking / cooling time before shipping.

We use UPS or USPS for all our shipping. Shipping is $5 for ANY order. We get all orders out within 24 hours.

Our shortbread cookies are also in stock at "It's a Divine Bakery" in Cave Creek.

Our Equine treats are available at "3 Bars Feed and Tack" in New River.
